Is there going to be a hard copy?

Not in the foreseeable future. But don't worry. You don't need an e-book reader like a Nook or Kindle, Sony's Reader or an iPad. There are many free e-reader applications for PCs and Macs, as well as for iPhones, Blackberry's and Androids including Amazon's and BarnesandNoble's. You don't need to get a mainstream app if you don't want to create an account with Amazon, BarnesandNoble, etc. Two popular free e-readers are Mobipocket (which has PC and mobile device versions) and the open-source Calibre (PC, Mac, Linux).

Which format should I buy?

That depends on what e-reader you are going to use. Most people will buy the e-book for the e-reader they already own, such as a Kindle. If you don't own a specific e-reader you are buying for, you want to buy the EPUB version.
